MINIATURE DURHAM SHORTHORN CATTLE

Of Sundance LB Stock Farm

Miniature Durham Shorthorn cattle originated in Durham, England. Many of the 18th century paintings depicted these beautiful cows. The Durham breed was Oregon's first breed of cattle, pulling wagons across the Oregon Trail to get here.

Breed Characteristics include:

  • Miniature Durham Shorthorn Cattle are dual purpose animals for beef and dairy. They will fatten efficiently on grass and because of their size they are easy on pastures as their hoofprint is minimal and you can barely tell they are there, unlike their counterparts.

  • Gentleness, Ease of handling during milking, these cows are small but not delicate.

Miniature Durham Shorthorn Cattle make the best homestead type of cow that many people look for in a milking cow. We have bred these animals here at Sundance LB Stock Farm for over 30 years.
